Fil Filter, the specialist in OEM and aftermarket filters
Fil Filter has a long history as a filter manufacturer. Since 1966, Fil has been producing and developing the best and highest quality filters and filter elements. What is particularly striking is how much Fil invests in new technology and further development of the filters. Fil invests about 10% of its annual turnover in the development of increasingly higher quality filters. With an annual production of more than 100 million filters, you can imagine that these investments are not small.
The reason why Fil is perhaps a less well-known name is mainly because production largely goes to the original brands. Both for OEM parts in new machines and cars and in the after-market. It is therefore possible that your machines, trucks, vans and cars have a Fil filter without you even realizing it.
Automotive grade filters
The fact that Fil supplies many of the major car manufacturers is not something that can be taken for granted. In the automotive industry you must meet the highest quality and sustainability requirements to obtain the so-called “automotive grade” predicate. This is certainly not something that every manufacturer can achieve. If you look at the car brands that use Fil as a manufacturer for their original filters, you come up with an impressive list. For example, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Fiat, Renault, Hyundai, Nissan, Ford, Peugeot, Mitsubishi and Kia use Fil produced filters. You cannot see this, because the filters are provided with the label of the car brand, but it does show that there is a good chance that you have owned a Fil Filter before.
Filters for agricultural and construction machinery
Fil can also count many brands among its regular customers for agricultural and construction machinery. For example, the brands of the major agricultural machine manufacturers AGCO, SDF and CNH have Fil as the manufacturer of their original filters. It is therefore quite likely that your New-Holland, Case, Fendt, Valtra, Massey-Ferguson or Deutz has a Fil filter under the hood. In 2018, Fil Filter won the “Best Parts Supplier” award from AGCO.
Own engineering and laboratory
Within the Fil team, everything is done in-house, from the design of the filters, the housings and the testing of new products in their own laboratory. There are not many filter manufacturers that can make both the metal and plastic parts of filters in-house. You often see that manufacturers turn to external suppliers for plastic parts. The fact that Fil can do this themselves gives them the opportunity to bring high-quality products to the market much faster. This is also a reason that many major brands work with Fil for their brand of original filters. Almost every machine has specific requirements regarding size and performance of the filters used. Example of Fil filter quality
Through years of experience with filters, Fil knows what constitutes the quality of a filter. A good example of this are Fil's air filters, which provide extra strength in the places where the highest load is placed on the filter. As you can see below, the Fil filter is reinforced with additional metal strips to keep the filter in good condition for a long time. You can imagine that an air filter puts a strain on the filter media when in use. Continuous loading and movement of the filter media causes the quality to deteriorate. The metal strips in the Fil air filters ensure that they last longer and that the risk of damage, and therefore contamination in your engine, is reduced to a minimum.
