Sotras started small in Turin, Italy. Since the very beginning, they have focused on filters of excellent quality. Due to the focus on specific compressors and the unique needs that that application requires, Sotras has a unique product range. Many of Sotras' filters are specifically designed for that one application and machine. This means you can also be sure that if it says that the filter is suitable for your compressor, you can count on it.

The company mainly specializes in oil separators in compressors. This applies to screw compressors as well as piston, rotary and scroll compressors. There are also many Sotras filters available for vacuum pumps.

Sotras distinguishes itself from the competition in several areas. First of all, the company is not just a specialist for filtration in compressors. This is a unique application that requires very different properties of a filter. For example, with speed-controlled compressors, the differences in throughput are large. Sometimes it concerns low speeds and high pressure, other times high speeds with low pressure.

Sotras and innovation

Sotras has continued to improve in its own niche. Not only the products are continuously improved, but also the quality controls. The company carries out various quality tests for each filter. One of these tests is a so-called smoke test to discover the weak points of the filter and improve them. The oil separators have a particularly low residual oil content of less than 3 milligrams per m³ or 3 ppm, parts per million.
