Mann+Hummel history
The company dates back to 1941 when it was founded in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Mann-Hummel and filters for construction equipment
The company has been focusing on both brand original filters and after-market filters for heavy machines for years. These products are mainly distinguished by their high performance, longer lifespan and easy maintenance. The brand's air filters can be found in many machines and they have suitable products for tens of thousands of machines.
Best known for its air filters and cabin filters, you would almost forget that the brand also makes oil filters, hydraulic filters, coolant filters and transmission filters.
The brand is a specialist, especially in the field of air filters. For example, the Europiclon and Entaron air filters are specially made for challenging and dusty environments. What makes these filters and their housings so convenient is that you don't need any tools to replace them on the construction site. This saves time and means that you do not have to stop work to replace the filter.
At Boar we have connected Mann-Hummel filters for thousands of machines. This means you no longer have to spend hours searching through the manual or the internet to find the right filter. If you want to know whether we have filters for your specific machine, you can quickly select your machine via the link below:

Mann-Hummel in OEM quality
Many major machine brands and car manufacturers rely on the quality of Mann-Hummel. They outsource the development and production of their filters to the company. Not only because of the convenience in the supply chain, but also because of the expertise.
If you look at some of the car manufacturers that rely on the company for their filters, for example, you have the brands;
Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Ford, General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Volvo, Scania, MAN trucks and DAF trucks..
If you look specifically at heavy machinery for agriculture and construction, you will also come across the biggest names in the industry, for example Caterpillar, John Deere and Komatsu.
Mann-Hummel and innovation
Within the company there is a great focus on innovation and further development. In the past year the company has spent more than 100 million Euro on R&D. The automotive market in particular is a challenge to stay ahead.
One of the areas in which the company leads is the “smart filters”. These are the filters that are connected to the vehicle or machine systems via IoT. These filters measure themselves whether they are full, need to be replaced, or whether they can continue for a while. The big advantage of this as a user is that you no longer replace preventatively, for example based on the number of operating hours, but that you can make optimal use of the extended lifespan and quality of the filters. The filter will tell you whether it needs to be replaced, so you don't have to pay any attention to it.
Product lines highlighted
In the section below we highlight some of the company's great product lines. These product lines are certainly not the only ones that the company produces, and not all 1000 patents are in these products, but they are really typical innovations that deserve some extra attention.
MANN+HUMMEL Europiclon® Air Cleaners

We have already written a blog about the Europiclon line. These air filters have the great advantage that they are very compact and extremely easy to maintain. The compact size makes it easy to store them in one place on your machine. They are not those large housings that get in the way of the real work and you can often attach them in different ways. The ease of maintenance lies in the housing, which can be easily disassembled using a few clips. So if you notice that your filter is clogged, you can replace the internal filter in minutes, wherever you stop.
MANN+HUMMEL NanoForce® Air Filters

This filter media is truly a typical innovation that enormously increases the lifespan and performance of air filters. The material is one of those typical innovations that shows why the company is at the forefront of new developments in the field of filtration. The filters equipped with this filter media can retain more dust and at the same time they last longer. Quite a special mix of product properties, because they often contradict each other. After all, the more dust you stop, the sooner the filter media becomes clogged. Not with the NanoForce media. In addition to its good performance, this filter media is also resistant to chemical and moist contaminants. Sometimes organic and even synthetic filter material is eaten by chemicals or broken down by moisture in the liquid to be purified. Not with the NanoForce.
MANN+HUMMEL WAVELOCK™

This is also a typical innovation that shows how much detail goes into the development of new filters. This system provides a better seal between a spin-on filter and the filter head. With many filters you simply screw the filter on the head and two flat surfaces touch each other and a sealing ring must ensure that no leakage occurs. With the Wavelock system this is a little different. The filter head has a waved surface with a spring in it that ensures that the filter always fits seamlessly with the filter head. This prevents leakage and guarantees an optimal connection, without leaks. An additional advantage of the Wavelock filters is that you do not need any tools. This is of course easy, but it also prevents you from over-tightening the filter during installation, which can cause leaks.
MANN+HUMMEL ENTARON XD Air Cleaner Series

This series of air filters uses pre-filtration by centrifugal forces. Because the airflow through the housing removes a lot of dust and dirt from the air before it reaches the actual filter, the Entaron filter elements last much longer. This is ideal in circumstances where you are confronted with a lot of dust, such as in agriculture and on construction sites. The smart housing allows you to place these filters very flexibly on your machine. There is always a place to be found. Especially because these filters are up to 50% more compact than competing filters with comparable capacity. Just like the Europiclon filters, the elements of the Entaron series are also very easy to replace. By loosening a few clips you can immediately remove the cover of the housing and replace the filter element. Super handy.
