In 1985 Hyundai heavy industries started manufacturing construction machinery. Over the years Hyundai has grown into a worldwide player and produces over 50.000 machines a year with a workforce of over 6000 people. In 2022 Hyundai also acquired Doosan, which it will continue under the Develon brand name. One of the company's flagship machines is the Hyundai R520LC-9A excavator, which is known for its power, speed, and reliability. The R520LC-9A is designed for use in a variety of applications, including mining, road construction, and forestry, and it features advanced technologies such as the Hyundai Intelligent Control System and the Hi-Mate remote management system. Hyundai has a strong emphasis on innovating and sustainability. One example being the electric-powered HL960HD wheel loader. With its R&D facilities in South Korea, Germany and the United States it is always looking for new production techniques such as 3D printing of parts.
