Volvo Construction equipment dates back to 1830 when Johan Theofron Munktell founded a workshop in Eskilstuna, Sweden. It quickly expanded into a successful business in steam powered machinery. In the 1950’s they started producing the wheel loaders and excavators we now know them for. Over the years the Volvo machine portfolio extended to a wide range of machinery, including articulated haulers, graders, pavers, compacters, mining and and material handling equipment. In total they produce over 45.000 machines a year with 14.000 employees and sold by more than a 1.000 dealers in 120 countries.
